Work from home volume 02 is the second instalment in our journal series. We have already felt a positive change to our domestic working practices, from establishing our own bespoke creative set-ups to creating a better rhythm throughout the day. The vaabs team are finding that lockdown has provided a chance for improved personal measures. We’re settling in now, establishing the new normal. It’s good to see people making the most of their situation.
Friend of the brand Chris (@ssun.1o) has been making the most of his downtime, as the curator of his own creative space. In these shots he is wearing our signature hout hoodie whilst exploring his favourite artistic medium. Here, we catch up with him to see his latest movements.
How are you finding the work from home vibe?
On one hand it's relaxing and I can organise myself but on the other hand I have to get motivated everyday and not get bored or tired of staying home... I miss travelling.
How is the pandemic affecting content creators like yourself?
It affects me because I can no longer create content and continue my usual collaborations like photo-shooting and working at the workshop, but on the other hand it allows me to take a little break from Instagram and spend more time with my family and friends on videochat.
What are your creative expressions?
Drawing.
Who are you listening to?
I often listen to Hip-Hop, Trap, RnB, Pop, Afro. I don't have a favourite artist but sometimes I listen to old school songs.
Word of advice for creatives?
Stay at home as much as possible and protect your family. Enjoy spending time with your family and stay positive. Take a break.
When we recently worked with Chris, he highlighted a quote by Pablo Picasso. We think this helps us to reflect how our perspectives can change from day to day. Things are always changing and when we move forward, our situations naturally grow too.
